Skooties

Skate Skooties are easy-on, easy-off wheel covers that slip over your roller skate wheels, letting you walk without removing your skates. Patent pending.

We set out to answer a simple question: how can roller skates be converted into something you can walk in without taking them off? We began by researching possible solutions and developed multiple design concepts exploring different geometries, attachment methods, and silicone hardness levels.

Skate Skooties: Turning Roller Skates into Walkable Shoes

In testing, we created 3D-printed molds and cast prototypes using a range of rubber materials. Through extensive iteration and testing, we refined the design into a system of three sizes capable of fitting the majority of roller skate wheels and configurations.

This invention was developed in-house, and ProtoBear prepared and prosecuted the patent application directly with the USPTO. After a promising examiner interview, the patent is now nearing allowance.

Skate Skooties are currently in full production through our sister company in Shanghai and are available in several retail locations.
