Helping inventors climb from concept to creation.

ProtoBear isn’t just a name, it’s a symbol of what we do.

We represent a beginning (proto). Ideas start small. Fragile. Directionless. We nurture them, prototype their possibilities and design with the knowledge that they’ll one day be made en mass.

But the world is dangerous, they need to be protected (bear). We safeguard ideas and help them grow into something powerful. We act as the protector of good ideas, guiding inventors through the wilderness of product development and with the strength, patience, and instinct of a true guardian.

And like Ursa Major, the Great Bear that points the way, we serve as an inventor’s North Star; steady, constant, and true to the journey from concept to creation.

We are ProtoBear.

About

How ProtoBear Came to Be. ProtoBear grew out of Denver 3D Print Company (D3PC).

Adam founded D3PC in 2016 after serving in the U.S. Air Force and working as a patent examiner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). What began as a 3D printing shop with a couple of printers quickly evolved into something bigger. Clients did not just need prints. They needed guidance through design, prototyping, patent documentation, supplier sourcing, packaging, and production. Over time, the work expanded. The responsibility expanded. The role became clear. And D3PC transitioned into creating highly patentable and manufacturable products and parts. In 2026, the company rebranded to ProtoBear to reflect what it had already become: not a print shop, but a guide through the entire product development process.
