Flip Lip is a patented beverage can protector that fits securely on most aluminum cans, helping shield your drink from dirt, debris, and other external contaminants.
The client approached ProtoBear with the challenge of creating a simple, one-piece solution for covering beverage cans and protecting drinks from dirt and debris. Many believed the concept would require multiple parts, but our goal was to engineer a single-piece design that could securely fit a wide range of can sizes.
Through iterative design and prototyping, we developed a flexible form that could accommodate both standard and larger beverage cans while maintaining a reliable seal. During development we also explored material formulations, testing the limits of glow-in-the-dark additives to achieve the desired visual effect without compromising performance.
The final product was refined for manufacturability and produced through our sister company’s manufacturing network. The design has since been granted a patent and is now in production.
